Jean-Michel Jarre Comes to DVD-Audio
'Aero', Jean-Michel Jarre's latest album, will be released as a
DVD-Audio disc on 21st September, according to the official Jean-Michel
Jarre web site.
'Aero' is a greatest hits album, but also includes four previously
unreleased compositions. Rather than re-mixing old recordings for surround,
all the tracks have been re-recorded by Jean-Michel, Francis Rimbert and
Patrick Pelamourgues to take full advantage of DVD-Audio's potential, the
surround mix being created by Joachim Garraud.
The album will be released on East West records, a Warner imprint, and
preliminary details indicate that it will include 3/2.1 surround mixes in
Dolby Digital and DTS form for DVD-Video players, and 96kHz 24-bit PCM for
DVD-Audio machines.
While the CD and DVD-Audio track lists are identical, the DVD-Audio
version will include "scenes", small interludes between tracks, created by
Joachim Garraud at Square Productions, Paris, back in August 2003.
Track List:
1.. Aero Opening - Scene 1
2.. Oxygene 2 - Scene 2
3.. Aero - Scene 3
4.. Equinoxe 8
5.. Oxygene 4 - Scene 4
